  1. New exhibition at the Modernism Museum-- Space Oddities: The Sequel

    The Modernism Museum Mount Dora is pleased to announce its new exhibition, Space Oddities: The Sequel. The exhibition opens on Tuesday, July 9th and will run until mid-2020. Space Oddities: The Sequel expands upon the Modernism Museum’s exhibition of mind-bending Post-Modern designs created by the radical 1980s design collective known as Memphis. This exhibit features hundreds of new Memphis design objects never-before displayed at the Modernism Museum. A members-only opening reception will be held on Wednesday, July 10th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the Modernism Museum gallery. This event is only open to 3MD Members; however, memberships will be available for purchase at the event. Individual-level Memberships start at $40 and several levels are available.   2. Vilas Tonape- Solo Exhibit

    February 23, 2020, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM @ Mount Dora Center For The Arts

    Working in both figurative and non-representational modes, Tonape focuses on nature. His paintings are “melodies” orchestrated by the artist, rooted in the visual rhythms of gesture and color, recorded in the subject matter. Opening reception: January 10th, 2020 6-8 PM.

  1. Ice Cream Bicycle Ride

    February 23, 2020, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Archives Room

    Children and their grown-ups are invited to a group bicycle ride, starting at Adrenaline Bike Works at 206 North Highland Street at 2:00pm. ABW personnel will lead the group to the Library, at 1995 N. Donnelly, where all riders are invited to an Ice Cream Social sponsored by the Friends of the Library. See the Dinosaur Exhibit one last time! No registration required. Please bring bike helmets for all riders (some available at shop). Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

  2. Meet the Dinosaur Artists

    February 23, 2020, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Community Room

    All ages are invited to learn more about dinosaurs and our astonishing exhibit (on display through February 2020) with artists Keith Strasser & Lyn Joyce. Learn the science behind these replicas, including how scientists determine dinosaur color, feathers, fur, etc. Learn which animals have more conjecture behind their appearance and which have a more scientific foundation. Bring all your dinosaur-related questions for an open Q&A session! No registration required. Overflow parking at Church of Christ. Seats on a first come, first served basis.
