    Children and their grown-ups are invited to a group bicycle ride, starting at Adrenaline Bike Works at 206 North Highland Street at 2:00pm. ABW personnel will lead the group to the Library, at 1995 N. Donnelly, where all riders are invited to an Ice Cream Social sponsored by the Friends of the Library. See the Dinosaur Exhibit one last time! No registration required. Please bring bike helmets for all riders (some available at shop). Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

  2. Meet the Dinosaur Artists

    All ages are invited to learn more about dinosaurs and our astonishing exhibit (on display through February 2020) with artists Keith Strasser & Lyn Joyce. Learn the science behind these replicas, including how scientists determine dinosaur color, feathers, fur, etc. Learn which animals have more conjecture behind their appearance and which have a more scientific foundation.     Curious about the wood carving hobby? All ages and all skill levels (especially beginners) are welcome at our weekly Wood Carvers Club. Spare knives are available for use at your first meeting. Learn proper wood carving techniques, carving safety, layouts, wood types and more. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. This class is taught by experienced carvers.

  8. Microsoft Excel: Basics

    W.T. Bland Public Library Technology Lab Registration begins 1/2/2019 at 8:00 AM Learn how to use Excel to organize numbers and text in a spreadsheet format. Excel spreadsheets can be used for budgets, work and school projects, record-keeping, lists, inventories, and more. By the end of this class you should be able to create and format a spreadsheet; enter and edit data; and use basic formulas to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers in a horizontal row or vertical column. Attendees will use PCs in the W.T. Bland Public Library Technology Lab, which have Microsoft Excel 2016 installed.

  11. Beginning Digital Photography

    "Where is the flash? What about the batteries? What do these buttons do? Can my shots be edited on the camera? How do I focus my shots?" This class will answer these basic questions. Instructor Steve Berger is a photographer with years of photography instruction experience. This class is a hands-on workshop for beginners. You'll learn how to operate your digital camera and practice taking shots during class. Please bring your digital camera (make sure it is charged).
